Hey guys..Eben said I should run over here and make my introduction..Thanx man!!
My name is Kevin, i live in Durbanville and love old cars, all ways wanted a VW and never scraped enough "BALLS" together to get one.. Had lots of fun with my wifes beach-buggy back in the day but never amounted to anything, later on I did a resto on a 84 mini clubman (picked it up for cheap) it was fun but i finished it in December last year and sold it..
Got to see a great bus that a friend of mine had restored and then set out to make a mission to find one...BOUGHT MY BUS LAST MONTH!!!!!!!
and you will never believe me when i say it but... completely stripped with all major parts and working running gearbox and motor for ...wait for it.. R100!!!!!
Happend to be there with a trailer at the right time and so i now own my first VW!!!!!!
Cant wait to get it on the road and down to a few breakfast runs!!!

Hi all,

My name is Jean, coming from France last November. I have a Type2 baywindow, in a relatively bad condition, going to improve it little by little... My former cars are all French brands, so I don't know whether they are familiar to you:
two Renault 21 (one of them was a "Baccara" series from 1992, the other a simple atmospheric car from 1994, if I remember correctly), a Renault 4 (year 1989), lastly a Peugeot 304 (year 1971), and also a Renault Laguna break (yeara 1996) for a trip over north and west Africa... See you soon with pictures! :-)

Welcome and Yes , Please start a Thread on your Africa trip, these are always well followed.

Also start a Project thread on the T2 bus, as it is always nice to see how the bus comes back to life.
And you have a permanent record to look over in future, not to mention the inspiration the Newbys get from seeing it done by others.

Hello Everyone.

I'm Matt. I am only 17 years old but have developed a love for the VW beetle. I at first didn't like t all that much, but my dad was absolutely mad. We bought one for me. We bought it all the way in Bloemhof. I have been loving my bug ever since. I'm getting my license in that car, and it makes me so happy. I could not have been so happy with any other car than a beetle. I like to see new creations of Beetles, as people are so creative.

Hi Folks,
I'm almost new to the community...joined because I need help please.

I have a '67 Beetle in poor condition which I'd like to restore and turn into a reliable daily runner.
I'd be most grateful for any recommendations about honest and reliable companies that could do this for me.
I have tried the usual channels (google, ads, etc) but am really struggling to get someone to even return my call.
I'm in Gauteng but Pretoria is also fine.

Hope to hear from you soon

Best regards

Mike
