Hello everyone.
My name is Myburgh, and I live in Cape Town. Ive recently caught the VW bug, and have decided to get my hands on a T3 Camper. It seems though that I will have to convert one myself, as the campers are hard to find within my price range. I'm looking to buy the interior sections one by one, and install them as I get the money for them. Maybe buy the fold out bed/seats one month, then a storage unit the next, etc etc. Unfortunately I don't have the knowhow to build these things from scratch, and to have it done professionally would probably shatter my bank account. I've seen such units advertised on UK and USA websites, but nothing local. If anyone has any advice on this, please PM me, and I would be very grateful.

Good morning All!

My name Charles and I have just joined your forum. After many years in Jozi, I now reside in Parys, Free State. Like all of you, I live, eat, sleep and talk VWs. I currently own 3 Beetles (60,63 and 72) and 2 Busses (65 Split and 71 Early Bay). Thank you for a GREAT site, the best I have found! I will post some pic in the days to follow.
Keep Dubbin!

Hi Everyone,

My name is Wei Chong and I hail from Republic of Singapore. Yes, you heard it right...Marina Bay Sands (think of F1), southeast Asia, next to Malaysia and *repeat*, it's not in China, a small city and country as well.
Over here, old cars are extremely rare and most get exported in our countrymen pursuit of everything new. Thus, you need to be very lucky or know where to seek out these oldtimers (that's the term they used in Germany which I discovered on a recen trip).

I used to own 2 beetles, a '71 1302 and a '67 1200 ( the latter which I won a best restored award in a competition back in 2002). After selling both, I thought that would be my last brush with aircooled but fate would have it that my wife were to bug me in 2012(yes exactly 10 years later to buy her a BUS!). She's the proud owner of a '82 T3 with a 2.0l aircooled engine.

Well, you guys must be thinking why am I here? Yes, I've an agenda which you guys might hate me for. I'm considering to import a split but instead of any split, rather a Fleetline (kudos to VW camper&bus magazine) that has the underpinnings of a more modern bay but retaining the look of a split. I'll appreciate if anyone is willing to share with me more about Fleetline. Hopefully, I can make some friends on this forum and pop over to SA someday. If you do come by Singapore, do give me a shout, yah? Cheers :hangloose:

Hi, my name is Vikki, we have 4 vw beetles, project cars for the kids. One is now complete. I stumbled on a facebook page on the weekend, met some other vw enthusiasts who put me onto this site, thanks Guys. I look forward to getting the others on the road and involved in any social activities.

Hi guys,

Welcome your newest nOOb ;). My name is Jason, about 3 years ago I bought myself a 1976 black Volksie and now she resides with me in Roodepoort in Johannesburg.

I stumbled across the forum countless times when I had problems with my buggy and is one of the best resources I have seen available. It makes me proud to see something like this in SA. That being said I would love to get to know more about the people and the culture here.

I also just want to say thanks to everyone for all of the knowledge being shared here, it's great!

Hello everyone,

I work with a great deal of petrolheads in a software company down in Durban. I don't own any VWs currently, but since my daily commute involves a dirtroad, I've been thinking about getting a Beetle off-road type conversion. After a quick chat with one of the aforementioned petrolheads at work,I was swiftly pointed in this direction.

So yes, hello!
