Hi guys
Lourens a bike fanatic and love off road riding. Like to go in the bush and enjoy the great outdoors! Whether it is on the little WR or the big beemer it must be challenging exciting and out there.
Sometime my lovely wife accompanies me on longer trips as a passenger and all needs to be tamed down. Sometimes to such extend that I have to peer through the window of my 4x4. This makes the tour mush saver, much slower, much more comfortable and much much more boring.
I want to be out there, smell the flowers, feel the heat and cold on my skin be more in touch with the environment. I want to travel at at least the speed of a bike on rough gravel roads.
So that is way I have joined this forum. :hangloose:

Hi guys and gals,
I'm Mitch from Durban. Technically I'm not new, I've not been here for a while. I've been a member here for quite a while but sort of lost touch for a couple years.
I had a '74 1600 twin port bug as my first car. Always loved the buses though, would still like to get myself one.
Found this site again while I was going through my favorites list the other day, and thought I'd have a look around again. Another reason that sparked the renewed interest, rather 3 reasons, is the fact that I have a teenager who is talking about doing his learners and looking for a car for when he gets his drivers, thought a bus or fastback might be something different for him. Secondly, the wife and I have talked about getting a camper / Autovilla type vehicle to customize to our specs, to make our camping trips more comfortable and enjoyable. The third reason, I've had an idea running around in my head about starting a food truck type business on the side to supplement our income and again thought an Autovilla type vehicle would suit this purpose.
So that's my story.
Thanks for all the inspiration in the project pages.

Cheers!

Have heard, that you can use the type 3 floor pan, just need to cut it in the right places, and it fits .
Talk to the panel guys for more info.

Hello aircooled heads

I'm robby from bushbuckridge in mpumalanga,I don't have an aircooled yet,but after an ordeal with my ford fiesta I've become more interested on what we call "the ice cream bus" around here and the beetle, which I wish to own,if not both the beetle and bus.looking forward to learning about this toys and owning and driving them myself :hangloose:

Hi and welcome, not some one that gets confused easy, but when I last saw the SA map, these two areas where like a distance apart.

How about updating your avatar, with your location, then the guys can contact you from your own area.

Also start a thread under "Projects" and place pics of your car and or what you want to build, and the guys will chip in with all the info you need.

Have fun here, but remember, photos win many friends....... :D :D
