Any idea how this plastic dust cover fits?
Found this beauty in my stash box, I'll change the scruffy one for this tomorrow:-

Right, the saga continues. I pan on getting as far as I can today, without fitting the top tins. When I had mine shot blasted & powder coated last year, I was disappointed to find that some pi holes had appeared & they powder coated the parts anyway. Time was an issue so I just stuck them on. This time I've managed to get some NOS tins. Once these arrive I'll get them powder coated. I can then fit & forget these.
Anyone got any advice on the orientation of this part?
Never had one of these parts before.

Today's Job is to clean the engine bay ready for paint.
Just what you want to do on a hot summers day.
Last time I changed all the petrol pipes I damaged one of the steel lines coming out of the bottom of the fuel tank. Luckily there was a small bit I could clamp the new fuel pipe too, but only just. I'm going to remove the tank today & get it welded so that I know it won't give me any future trouble

I realized I'd left off the captive nut, now its welded on & I've spent more time with the finger file now polishing up the welds. Now I have a truly seamless joint, ready for re-fitting to the engine:-

The gearbox has had its second coat of gloss black, 1 more & I'll be happy with it:-
