Ah would have loved to have mine on the road a few weeks ago! It hasn't moved much since brining it down from jhb four years ago. Right now my engine is out so I can restore the tank. All the best, Mike

OK thanks man - was just a long shot. A red and white splittie passed Sean and I a few weeks ago. N1/R44 Klapmuts, heading towards Stellenbosch. It looked like it was on a long roadtrip, NAM plates and all. It looked like an ambulance, the Rear hatch was definetly that of an ambo. We could,nt get any pics as it drove passed ...
That's a buddy of mine. His name is Marc, if you catch up to him. :) He is studying in Stellenbosch, so you'll probably see his bus around quite a bit for the foreseeable future, Paul. It is an ex '67 ambo.

Hi, and welcome here.

You do know this is an Aircooled forum, and your Polo is a Water cooled.........

Maybe we can convince you to rebuild an Aircooled motor into the Polo.

Hello "Airheads" (lol). I am glad I have found a home right here in SA. I LOVE the classic VW Beetle and currently own a 1978. It has a few tricks up its sleeve. Nothing special though since most has been done. Watch this space though. Big things are coming soon. It has disc brakes up front. Currently busy converting the rear. Engine is standard 1600 twinport with the exception of a cartridge filter. Thanks to Tony of Volkswork Johannesburg. I am currently toying with the idea of a Subaru WBX and a conversion to IRS.

Hi there can someone please help me. I have beautiful pictures of my Volla but do not know how I can show them on the forum. My pictures are 1600 x 1200 pixels. How do I go about reducing them so that I can post them here. Your help is appreciated. Thanks

Hi Everybody,

I am Hannes Smit from Pretoria.

I got hold of a 1981 transporter that served as a mobile clinic by Edenvale City councel till 2009 when I bought it.

I was using it ever since as a fishing wagon as is. No mods what so ever.

This vehicle is undoubtedly something very special and I have no intention getting rid of it ever.

I was forced to search the net for info after the engine packed up a few days ago, and was I pleasantly surprised when I came across this forum!.

Needless to say I am hooked, and since old Servaas is now without an engine, I decided this is the perfect time to start restoring it as it starts to show the waer and tear of 33 year's use.

Looking forward to many interactions with all you fine people on the forum.

Hannes
