Works great. Really brakes like a modern car, you don't have to stand on the brake pedal, just normal, like.

Pricey? Not the ventilated disc conversion, the booster was a bit. Unfortunately, if you follow the previous threads on brake conversions you will come to the conclusion that to really make a difference, the brake booster is the real answer. Just a disc conversion has many advantages, improved braking distance over correctly set up drums brakes, is NOT one of them. Cooling and maintenance are the main advantages. Unsprung weight is another.

I suppose the proof would be for someone to instal a booster while keeping his drums all round... Don't know if anyone has done that? Logic says... it would give a big improvement.

The bus for sale thread prompted this post...

Gill and I went on our anniversary dinner with the bus and while parking it, a guy jumps out of a lowered Toyota Corolla with a turbo charged sound systems, one of those shitty colour coded oblong steering wheels, and 6 inch diameter chromed outlet tail piece on a 1 inch exhaust. "Cool Fleetline, if you ever want to sell it, I'll give you top dollar." he tunes me.

I said "It's not a Fleetline and it's not for sale."

As he's getting back into his Rice-burner, curiosity got the better of me and I asked him, "What is top dollar for one of these these days?"

"Oh, 15 to 20 thousand (Rand)."

So there you have it. Some who really knows the business...

Bus interior... after camping with the tent from Muds, Gill say, "it needs a bed..." She's right of dourse, and she says, "Drill no holes..." Right again...

After thinking, measuring and calculating for a morning, I started with cutting out a piece of 9mm ply: No-one says it needs to be straight, right? And got to leave space for the freezer. Rear seat... More jigsaw, sander, holes saw... There... back rest to follow, will be table for outside whe the bed's made...
