Jeez, TWICE? Can't wait to here that story. I got hit from behind by a woman driver too back then when... She came by me so close she took my arm out with the wing mirror. The left arm, go figure... My arm had like four elbows in it... She drove off without stopping, never found out who she was...

I spoke to Rui this afternoon. He sounds very rough and is in a lot of pain, with lots of broken bones and roasties, but full recovery is now only a matter of time and rest.

Thanks for all the kind words, it has been 10 days of hell for me and my family
I'm really taken by the number of responses and well wishes, as well as the many Cell calls, some I just couldn't take as I didn't have the strength, many messages will also be replied in time as my strength builds.
I will try and tell you what unfolded as I have been told, because I'm currently under much sedation and I have about 2 weeks of memory loss.
I decided to take a leisure cycle ride of 1H30 on Wednesday 26 JAN 4pm on a route that I ride at least 4 times a week and have been doing so for some 14 years it's, Klipriver road going passed the Panorama Shopping centre where this happened.
I was going south, 2 open lanes, and a yellow lane all in all about 18m of tarmac, Eyewitness reports have this women in her shiny BEEMER veering from the far RHS lane across the LHS lane into the yellow lane hitting me for the first time in her first attempts at trying to correct herself in the yellow lane and then doing a great job of hitting me for the second time and doing all the damage to me.
Apparently her claims have me riding my bicycle in the RHS lane and she was swerving to avoid me, according to 3 eyewitnesses that have come forward since a newspaper request, all have her in the wrong and doing some sort of uncontrollable lane changing prior and after to the incident. We have since found out who the bitch is and I intend on taking her for what she is worth, my boet is prepared to put up financial support to bring her down, she should not be allowed to drive a car.
I suffered many injuries many only became apparent the longer my stay at the clinic.
I was initialy in ICU for 4,5 days and was on life support when I initially arrived, they were unable to do anything as I was too unstable, I improved, the life support was then switched off and wounds to my head repaired including 8 or 10 staples (hair has started growing over them ) on the following Sunday I was released from UCI and not sedated, I was In so much pain but It was bearable later when I tried to figure things out, with no memory, and with the fear of death I became hysterical, so they strapped me into the bed by all 4 limbs & sedated me again.
Monday morning I was transferred to a normal ward still heavily sedated, and with bruising or burns, abrasions over 60% of my upper body including my arms and about 20% on my right leg the pain was both external as well as internal, of wich most was only going to become apparent later.
Have to go will continue with a later post, with more updates. :D

Mid Monday I went into the OP theatre to fix a fractured RHS Collarbone a small thing that was to take max 45 min some time later, much later I was into ICU again, now they had 4 broken ribs damaged shoulder blade and a in the process my lung collapsed and I was back on life support was now technically flat lining for the second time in 6 days, spent another 2,5 days in ICU on in a normal ward on Wednesday morning, Have now now been at home for 1,5 days, and getting stronger day by day. With an ultra sore throat.
