karmann.pierre wrote:Wish Mine was that complete when I got her "1958 lowlight" but now have majority of parts excluding bumpers and seats. Good luck with the restoration. I will post pics of mine as soon as I learn how to

It actually wasn't that complete...Basically a body on wheels with a motor that had a bearing knock
parts I had to find were front and back screens, driver door glass, headlights, driver door handle, engine bay section, front bumper, headlights, front seats.
Still needs:
-Side mirror
-Rear view mirror
-Sunvisors
-Original headlights
-Carpet
-Sill plates
-And seats to be restored
Aswell as beading

Hi guys
After standing for more than a month due to bad metal fuel line and starter, she is back on the road
We went the route of running the new metal line on the passenger side of the tunnel connected to the rubber hoses on both ends.

It is probably easier that way, but more chance of corrosion, as with the brake line on the driver side. Also, dangerous in case of any leaks. The safest would've been to run it through the tunnel, or even under the car, if you have to.

I would have loved it to run through the tunnel exactly like the original, but I heard its a nightmare to remove the original from the tunnel.

It is done the same way you would replace old cable casings in old Vespa/Lambretta scooters. You attach the new line to the end of the old one with proper duct tape and slowly pull the old one through from the front of the car. I've done this on my Beetle.
