Spent the day fitting new rubbers and window scrapers to the cab doors. What an absolute mission! Fortunately the passenger door is done. The drivers door is 50% done - I couldn't finish it because I still need a new window which I will hopefully get this weekend.
I also added this badge which I know is not correct but it's nice and we like it and that's what counts 😂

Your project has come on nicely Bruce, looking forward to seeing the end result

(although these projects never really end, always something you find later that needs to be changed or improved lol !)

Thank you Jolas. That's true. Always something!
Will be sending it in to the pro's in the next week or two to check all the mechanicals and fix some issues. Then I will be driving it as much as possible!

Haha yes. I didn't enjoy replacing all the rubbers in the cab doors today though! 😀
Can't wait to actually take it on a proper drive knowing everything has been checked and sorted.

So today I managed to finish the last cab door after getting a replacement window. In an attempt to identify the squeaking noise from the front wheels, I also fitted new brakes which it didn't need, but whoever worked on this brakes previously was a bit of a mamparra as they had used wire and silicon to keep the pads from rattling instead of the rattle clip on one of the calipers. Will have to source a replacement. Also treated her to new wipers!
I also fitted the first stickers after spending the afternoon at Vaalplasie. Thank you fig. 😀

The new lights and some more bits and pieces should arrive tomorrow and then she is going in for the mechanical stuff which will consist of refurbishing the entire front end and doing a check up of the motor.

Thank you.

I didnt find the outta scraper that bad. The inner were worse for me and my fingers have the bruises to prove it.....from trying to get those silly wire clips to clip into place. Anyway they are done and its the first time i have ever heard the doors close without rattling the windows - so it was worth it.

Just received a bunch of spares which i can wait to fit. Amoungst the spares i ordered was seals for the front indicators and rear lights. I didnt know at the time that the lights and indicators i ordered came with these seals so if anyone needs them i paid around R180 a set for them and will let them go for that or to swop for WYH. (the rears is a set of 4 and the fronts are a set of 2). Will place an advert in the for sale section also.

Since I got home a bit early today I decided to fit the new lights and the rear bumper rubber. What a difference they have made! People will now actually see my lights now also. Oh and they will not allow water through either.

Oh and if anyone wants the old lights which are not in great condition you can have them for free. If not I will be throwing them away.
