Re: Beetlefanatic`s Cabrio By Bugger
Finally after threatening the glass guys I piced up the 1pce window glass today so that can get fitted and the bug can go to the upholster for the roof
Also started on the front end got a spare front h beam and cut and welded the adjusters in with my Co2 and smoothend the welds nisely coz before I welded them in I chamferd a nice V between the Beam and the adjusters that just gives a better penetrating weld so that is done
now to clean all the old ghries and shit off and paint it and assemble with all that nice goodies I bought for it a while back
Will put some pics up of that in due time
Here is some of the slow progress

Re: Beetlefanatic`s Cabrio By Bugger
Wow a momth has gone by since I did something on this bug
Well after batling basically the whole dat till 3pm with the import 1pce rubber kitt there is a shit load of prepping to be done to get this rubbers to fit in the guids and stripping the ends to curle up and the clips I had a humur failure
I wanted to have the scraper rubbers inn aswell before the bug goes to the Upholstery guy for the soft top so I just fitted the Back guide for the window and fitted the glass and lined it up all the way wound up
So will have a go at it another day that was to much for one day
The front top part of the window frame I will go and find some u rubber of some new cars to neaten it up coz if I`m going to fit the normal bug u felt it stick out to much and will look very shit
The front end I painted and I have built a bracket that fits on my engine stand with a cut off front piece of a rusted old chassis and bolted the H-beam up to that so I could assemble all the electroplated goodies to the beam and all the urethane bits with the thicker anti roll bar with the vented crosdrilled discs
Will keep you guys posted

I'll put a dent in her bonnet if she tries to lie on my car's bonnet like that!

Re: Beetlefanatic`s Cabrio By Bugger
Front beam with new adjusters and painted.
Unfortunately the car has been at the upholsters for the past 5 weeks for the soft top and seats. They are very busy and I told them to take their time. I don't want a rush job. Bugger is working on the gearbox fitting a longer 4th gear as well as super diff and heavy duty side cover. The engine for the bug is sitting in the bay and the bay's new 2.4 is in pieces and needs to be completed. When it comes back from the upholsters all the nice new goodies will go on as well as the new wheels. I can't wait to see what it will look like! You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
