Welcome Delilah! I'm sorry to say that I got a set of hubcaps from a guy in Melkbosstrand two weeks ago. I know it doesn't help you, but good luck. Also, don't be hesitant to courier from Johannesburg. These hubcaps are more difficult to find than those for the Beetle, so have it couriered if you find it at a good price. Postnet2Postnet is not that expensive, and there are other options as well. Or your items could hitch a ride from some forum member. If a set of jaffel/snackwich irons could do it, so can a set of hubcaps.

Maybe start a project thread and post the items you need in the wanted section of the forum. Some members only check those and remember we love pictures and more pictures and then some more of those.
There are a lot of guys in "Slaapstad" that will be able to help I am sure or at least close.

Hi I,m in Scotland. I bought an 1976 1600L Beetle for my wife here in Scotland, the original owner brought it back here with her. My wife was born in South Africa so had to have it and calls it Indy.
It's an usual confusing colour a yellowish greenish colour what is this colour called?
In it's export documents the South African custom couldn't decide on its colour and has green scored out and then yellow entered.
Currently the beetle is off road for rust repairs mainly the wings and heater channels otherwise it is in amazing condition. I would like to keep the original look so can someone advise me on where to get centre caps for rostyle wheels and front wing reflectors.
Other parts seem to be a cause of studying vw parts sites for what looks right.
The only thing I'd modify is the the wheels add an inch to the width any advice.... DAVID

I'm new to the aircooled world but love my Lolette Spyder. It took 7 months to get her to this point. Engine needs some attention though

Please start a project thread and post a few more pics of your bug. Looking at the inside front door window frame, my guess is that the colour is Sunburst Yellow. Yes we know about that "is it green or yellow" argument

There is a thread on the forum which will easily solve you colour question, but, I can't for the life of me find it right now

Rostyle wheel caps should'nt be a huge problem. Front reflectors in good nick - we battle with that. But they were fitted to bay window busses, Beetles, T3 Squarebacks, Notch, Fastback, etc, etc - generally most of them are now, after 40 odd years, in a crusty or brittle state
