Took the Ghia to Hermanus for the weekend. Drove like a dream. Was also given permission to take "Rumours" for a spin. 1915cc in a buggy is cool. Thanks R&G.

I took this

and put it in here...

on my 67 bug.

PS: If anybody has a recommended "easy" way to do this, please let me know. I had to bend the spring from 180 deg to about 120 deg to get it in there. At 180 deg as in the pic, there is no way while the tranny is in the car. I even used steel wire and leveraged it off a post. I bent the spring but could not get it over the lever. Only once I bent it to have a 120 deg angle, could I get the arm in and the spring on.

Anybody new at this like me, remove the exhaust before you try and replace the spring while the tranny is in the car.

Did you try removing the circlip, and taking the clutch lever completely off? Yes, I know it is very difficult...

Yea, I had to. There was no way in getting the old spring off without taking the lever off.

Steering has been getting worse as the miles get put on, since I'm off to London next week, I can't do it myself so having to send it in to get sorted. Feels like driving a large boat in water, so right now she's parked up. This, however, means I can give her a good service and sort out the back firing..

Got the disc kit sorted. Now Springer stops (a little toooo well for wet weather :D )

Was a bit of a headache (cross thread nut on the stub axles, uprated to later stub axles, rims machined to fit over the new hub) but its done :drunks:

Do like the little bit of narrowing the discs have done !

Put the right rear wheel back on. Took it off the tressle stand and rolled it forward a bit. Saw a nice 'puddle' of oil where it was standing (didnt notice this before as it is like gravel in front of the garage). Not only that, but the fact that this Black Bitch doesnt want to start, the engine hopefully is going to come out tomorrow. Lots to do, including checking the valves that they are not 'sticking'/binding (for a lack of words).........Image
