View from the front upstairs window this morning:-
I renewed my Insurance before I went away on Friday so I've just taken 7 pictures for the agreed valuation:-
My coil looks a bit on the scruffy side, I did buy a Bosch blue coil only to find that the primary resistance is different to the original one. after a bit of searching & posting questions on The Samba & The Late Bay I discovered that the original coil would have been:-
The 211 905 115C: electronic ignition CA
As is is no longer available but the alternative 211 905 115B is available I goggled it & found that Just Kampers sell them here:- http://www.justkampers.com/shop/2119...84-j10538.html
I've just ordered one & it will be here any day.

Started fitting my roof rack brackets last night. I've finally decided where to put them now. As long as the rain stays away I'll get them done today.
Dropped off my seat parts today to be primer powder coated.

Got my new Coil, its a genuine VW part but made in Mexico. It has 2 terminals one side & 3 the other, the part No. is 211 905 115B:-
I also bought some mirror gaskets:-
Fitted my new coil today, nothing wrong with the old one apart from it being scruffy, so I'll keep it as a spare:-
Took a few pics of my finished engine bay, showing my firetech installation:-

My leisure battery clamped down properly:-
Started fitting my roof rack brackets, I've completed one side, It took me ages to decide where to mount it, in the end I went for a sort of standard distance apart as it would be on a saloon car, I could always add another pair on the back & a pair on the front if need be.
As I said I've only done one side, my 2 year old Leah came to help & she burgled one of my bolts & it took an age to find. I'll do the other side tomorrow:-

Finished fixing my Roof rack brackets, you got to watch the fiber glass dust it irritates your skin & makes it very itchy (ask me how I know) i would recommend glasses as well as it would be doubly unpleasant in your eyes. The brackets are held on by 4 bolts that have the square locators on the outside & 11 mm nuts on the inside. Try not to drill the top 2 holes too high or you wont get the nuts on.
