Hi All, just joined the forum this morning. I was looking for tires for my 67 ghia and came across this site. Glad that there is something running here in SA. Was in the US for year and managed to bring home some parts for my Ghia, but still need some other stuff like a new set of tires - see my post in the Wanted section. I am very keen to hook up with Ghia owners here in Cape Town. One thing I am trying to find is a place to get my chrome parts redone, any suggestions?
Cheers
Greg

Hi GFlash, and welcome!
I've had some good experience with 165/15 Mabor tyres, dunno if they are still available, try a SupaQuick near you. Chroming is usually and arm and a leg (or legs), but maybe you can get the same parts in a better condition, without needing to chrome what you have?
Show us some pics of your Ghia please!

Welcome Gflash.
I replied to your post in wanted. In Pe there is a place that chromes, and is not expensive.I'm in CT at the moment, and we are having a get together on Monday night.let me know and we can get together.I'll take the parts with me,have it chromed, and courrired back to you.

Thanks Pine, Chris and Bugger for the welcome. Unfortunately I am not ready to get anything chromed right now - no money and have to prioritize as there is quite a bit to be stripped off the car to be chromed. I know it will be expensive, but it is a lot cheaper than a new bumper. Thanks Chris for the offer. Can you send me details of the people in PE and I will contact them in a few months when I have money.

And here is a link to a VW show that I went to in Michigan, USA in May - there were some really beautiful vehicles there:

Lastly, here is a link to some amazing old V Dubs that I came across in Arizona while driving Route 66 in July-August this year:
