its all about, how much work you willing to do. if you do most or better all-its just a matter of materials.
if you dont want to do any work-you must pay. quality also comes into play...if you want someone else to do the work and do a quality job..PAY.
and it sucks...we all want stuff for free, atleast as close as possible to free. luckily i did most of the work, i say most coz the spraying
of the actual colour was a f@#k up. i sucked pretty bad at spraying...it was my first time. but i feel if you dont succeed, its for a reason.
no-im kidding, im just that lazy. the car started taking to long to finish.
im happy with the end result, there are a few small things to sort out...but for now ive got other things to concentrate on.
looking forward to the braai on sunday, hope ALL the durban guys will be there. coz i dont wanna have the only beetle there.

Hi, Please tell me how much that whole job cost you!?

a bit....not sure exactly.
i used about 4/5 litres primer, at about R40 or R50 a litre = about max R250
originally bought 4 litres paint, at about R70 or R80 a litre = about max R320 (but i ended up needing another litre-so say R400)
cant say how much water paper i used (lots)
hardener
2k primer
beer concumed
and cost to have final coat sprayed=R1500
and cut and polish = R300
id say just over R3500 for the panelbeating side of things. the accessories probably another R2000.
so all-in-all say R5500.

Nice job ... Me busy twith my first over-work, and following similar lines ... what I cannot learn to do, I'll pay for, but trying to do as much as possible myself.
And yes, it does work out slightly cheaper the first time round. The only problem I have had is buying the equipment. But all worth. Excellent job on your side though !
