I don't think anyone did...just the heat of the moment....we are all human and therefore all different!
That's why we fight, love, cry, laugh, have different oppinions and motives, etc and in Vader's world wear helmets...

Hey Dutch
Got a 181 for sale. Perfect restoration. Some have seen my work. You will have to look hard on this planet to find better. Going to give me 250K for it or anybody else in SA?
Got a chance of getting it in the States.
And is it wrong to be an Importer.
Some People want there cars to go to a certain home. The 57Chevy we bought from an old guy we did not know. His family happened to know our family 3 generations ago. There were quite a few that offered him more than we did but because he thought my great grandfather was a good guy he wanted us to get the car.
IE Does the seller of the car not have the right to sell his car to anybody he wants for any amount that he wants.
Where there is a problem is when someone is two faced. Ban who you want its not to difficult to spoof. Please Eben give us the names.

Like I said, selling your classic is, or should be, like selling puppies. You might not all be dog lovers, but try to put yourself in a dog lover's shoes to find the analogy.
Unfortunately, generalisation is common to debate, and even more so to ranting, one has to look past it. OK, I'll restate the one point for Dutch's sake: All will sell for more money, except those lucky few who don't have to because they have the luxury of indulging their passion of selling to local enthusiasts without feeling it in their budget. Is that better, Dutch? Anyway, you get the gist of it.
With this post, I have said my piece. You can quote little bits of my rants and pick holes in them, I think the point has been made and illustrated. Picking at the loose threads in my argument doesn't interest me. See you on the other threads!! Cheers.

Maybe I'm wrong then.....there aren't people in SA wanting to buy our cars...Didi good luck. Unfortuneately I'm not interested in a Ghia or 181. I would like a buggy or old beetle.
Anyone got one of them?

Tom, I've seen the 181 and it's amazing and your work is best I've seen to be sure....but as I said originally we usually spend more on restoring than it's worth in the end.....
On EBAY in UK, there's this one reserved at R49k....

To be honest, I understand the arguments around getting what you can....i.e no one's going to sell there house for a lower price than someone else offers. I just ask for an opportunity.
Eben, have you decided if you are going to give the names?

Not to Hyjack this thread but that 181 is a Fup.
Looks like its got golf bumpers, Pick n Pay hubcaps, Wiring is hanging out under the dash, Far to many switches on the dash that could be used for anything unless one of the original ones dont work anymore. In the Pic with the open door and steering wheel you will see rubber gromets ,that seal the internal box structure from water is missing, the own admits the alternater and speedo are faulty and the canopy and side cutains are missing.
And thats from the pics.

Tom, that's why I like you......you are the master of originality and correctness.... Sorry for even questioning

I'm now looking at other ACVW's in Europe and there are some bargains (well maybe not so much of a bargain...

by duplicates i mean the same username giving both the actual and proxy IP. I didn't keep those details but you should be able to see the same user-agents coming from different IPs in one of my first posts.
