Only got into my shop at 9. Best to work in the morning but some might still have a sore head.

faaak,

Turns out 50 year old bolts are a pain in the ass. The passenger side running board now has 4 stripped bolts. Got to love it when you are really careful removing them and they all snap off at the head. To quote a newly discovered SA term, jou p**s

On the plus side, PG autoglass are busy installing the windscreens. Glad he's suffering and not me, the Wolfsberg West rubbers are a, see quote above, to install.

But once in, cheesus wept do they look hot or what?

Now that's done, I need to sort out the bolt situation. What a pain in the ass

Will happen, I'm waiting for the doors to be sorted before I put the rest in.

Fenders are in the spare room, needless to say the wife got a shock to see the bonnet + fenders on the spare bed. Listen love, I muttered, paint costs a fortune, a new duvet cover doesn't. Kapish?

my couch is comfy, thank god for that

I laugh and cry at the same time when I read your last couple of posts, as my bug will need to get new rubbers, have ordered WW and, since it is a deluxe with the full chrome trim, I have a feeling the original trim will be a ROYAL pain in the behind to fit without breaking. Fortunately I have a little space in the garage and a nice big tarp, because on it lies two fenders and a rear decklid ! lol. OH, and I also have to replace the original running boards once the little bit of spraypainting and rust repair is done.... From your comments above. CANT WAIT

Today episode of "Got Mud?" is brought to you by The Freestate...

The car lived its entire life in the Freestate, which this meant zero rust anywhere on the car and zero repairs, it also meant the guy decided to pretend he had a landrover. In total. I have removed nearly FIVE, yes FIVE kilo's of dirt from this car.

Extra special rust prevention and dual sports suspension acting mud, as found as the optional extra back in those days for the manne in die Freestate

Today was spent drilling out the broken bolts on the bug. I'm hoping to find a place in Durbs that sells the required re-tapping kit, and some bolts that do the job..

Fitted the seats, visors, dash components, switches, glove box cover

Whilst I was cleaned out the mud, loosing more skin than Jenny Jameson on her latest porn flick, I decided to heed the advice found on this forum and relocate the fuel filter from the rear to the front.

Nice work Daniel San.

Moving the fuel filter was the best one yet! :hangloose:

Five kilo's of mud, did they use it for oval track racing!

Seats look very good, how about a close-up ?
