I think you need to read up on the horror stories behind some of those seats....
backrest collapsing in rear end collisions isnt uncommon
but hey, thats what you get for a couple of bob
Safety shouldnt have a price tag

There were a set of XR3 seats for sale on the forum a few days ago

there are plenty 2 door cars out there now, look for some of those at the scrap yards

otherwise, I'll update my posts when I have installed my seats and you can see a slightly more pricey option....

Back to THE RAT...

It was so hot in Jhb in the last week -- some platic bits were melting -- on the RATS BODY - THE FAKE air scoop melted and bulged -- so its gone --
I removed the radio, just incase -- it got too hot in the cabin, and melted the face ..

I replaced the CV boots - had the tappets reset, and re adjusted brakes this weekend..

I unfortunately found out the hard way - MY FUEL GAUGE DOESNT WORK - its showing 1/2 tank --
But i spent 45 min on the side of the road waiting for my not too happy wife to bring me a jerry can of fuel.....

On that note - is there any way to convert the manual - cable system to an electronic system - remembering the fuel gauge is seperate and housed next to the speedo in the
Dash -- ?? Id like to keep the dash unchanged - with Fuel Gauge and speedo where they are ???

Had a rough last 3 weeks
Last weekend she caught alight - melted my wiring..
This weekend i went to Modderfontein cars in the park..
En route home -
My passanger side rear wheel overtook me -- taking my rear light out and almost taking my whole fender with..
I was suspicious when I bought the tyres - the wheels studs - SEEMED TOO SHORT - I was assured they were fine --
Sadly i found out - NNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOT - luckily no one was hit by the rough wheel - and I only have bruised ego, as my wifew was with me in the car..
Thanks - to the gent in the white beetle who stopped to help me with the jack --

What was playing on the radio?
You picked a fine time to leave me loose wheel? :drunkchair: :drunks:

What caused the fire?
Did you fix the oil leak? Thats most probably why there was no oil in the gearbox....

And now for a support message from The Bug Bite Survivours Support Group...

Aint it just the worst when a tramatic thing like this happens and the SEATCOVER is in the car?!! At this point her buy-in into your beloved has taken a serious knock and could be problimatic in the future... Appropriate selvage steps on your part are Urgently required. Flowers on thier own just aint gonna cut the mustard. We are talking loose wheel here, not just fuel shortages. We suggest dinner, massage, day spa treatment, dont hold back you are in deep dooodooo dude... But we are here for you in this trying time... :drunks: :bn:
