G'day VW Racers

I have looked over the Speedweek results and created the Volkswagen LSR history list below for this years Kalahari meet. I would sure appreciate hearing from any of the Volkswagen racers. As you can see I am missing critical information regarding each of the race cars and also need photos of each VW racer for the photo file. Please PM me or contact me through the VW Challenge FaceBook page at http://www.facebook.com/groups/36hpvw.challenge . Also please feel free to share photos and info on our land speed racers at the FaceBook site.

I am currently researching details for a magazine article about Porsches (both Porsche and VW powered) that race in land speed. I need good quality photos and overall technical details. I have some pics of your 356(s) that are minimal in size and hope you see this message so I can obtain the information I need. Also that of any other four cylinder Porsche (or Porsche powered) vehicles that have competed at the Kalahari events. Event organizers? Can you help with contact info?

Any help you are anyone else can offer would be greatly appreciated. Please PM me with your email and I will return my email so the photos and details can be transferred.

May the Speed be with you.......................

Below are two new photos of the T64 dash and engine compartment plus reposts of earlier photos that became deleted. Hopefully these will not disappear a second time! While you can see progress is being made, this will be the last update post for awhile.

The publicity this car has generated created a problem for the builders with too many interruptions from both media and curious observers calling and stopping by the shop(s) and it has seriously slowed their ability to spend time completing the T64 versus "talking about it"! Any further updates will be at the discretion of the builders and it is requested that all contact with them be deferred until after completion of this very special 36hp Challenge racer.

This is Bloedhond. Afrikaans for Bloodhound. I actually did a GPS 215km/h but I missed the cones as I mis understood the marshall when they turned the track around. Then straight after that I did a GPS 209 with a official 206 on the score card. Image. Image.

It has been awhile since the last update on the 36hp Challenge Type 64 recreation being built in North Carolina. The crew of Bruce Cook, Dave MIller, Whitey Worsham and Elbert Efird have been working vigorously behind the scenes to make this masterpiece come together so I thought I would post the latest photos they have shared. As can be seen, the extremely difficult part of creating the body, all of the interior panels, are now formed and installed. Kudos to Dave for this amazing effort. Enjoy the images............Burly
