Hi guys thought I should drop in and say hello.

i have just moved over to SA from england, currently living in Knysna with my uncle for a couple months. No VW as yet but hopeful that I'm gonna find myself a beach buggy to zoom around in.
have found that there are loads around so hopefully shouldnt take too long to find a decent one!

any reccomendations or tips?

Hey bugger,

Man I must apologize as i went back to my Newbie introduction and found that you had asked me a question regarding 2001 breakfast run??? or something along that line..... You see, i also one of the forgetful crazy ones and loose track of time so easily - (posted my introduction in Sept 2007 - ish)

Anyway, I was still in Pretoria at that time and dont think is had my Type 1 yet - my mom was pushing it around till about 2004...

I WANT TO POST PICS???? :zhelp:

Hi all, I'm Frank. I today bought my first VW Air-Cooled!!!! I used to restore MG's when I lived in the UK but now I'm here and the family decided that a bus was a better deal so that we could all go out together. Well just wanted to thank Chris (previous owner) for parting with "split-dog" and as promised, I'll send pictures of the restoration job and try to do justice to these fantastic machines. By the way, the bus is a 1965 split-screen white over blue with a leaking fuel tank....luckily she didn't blow on the way home but the garage has had a good clean now. I'll try and upload a picture as my logo on this site when I work out how to make my pictures small enough to upload.

So just to say hello and thanks for all the help and advice that I'm probably going to ask the forums and members over the next few (many) years....

Regards
Frank (aka Dutch_Diver)
