Stripped off the bumpers, hubcaps and roof rack and took them to be powder coated (flat black).
New handbrake works like a treat, this weekend will see me finishing up all the outstanding bits and then finally this old dog is 100% complete.

Stripped the innards out of my panel. Now it does look like my grandmother old kitchen floor anymore. Pulled of all the wheels, hubs and brakes off for a complete overhaul.
Next will be engine out and the replacement of gearbox mountings.
Then there will be many questions to Fig regarding the reduction boxes. (If thats what they are called).

(Im a beetle man).
I have never seen PROP SHAFTS on a bus before either. This is gonna be a big learning curve. Fig prepare for a barrage of questions.
Got some front seats and front indicator lenses from a Jurgens autoville in Hermanus on Saturday as well as a, Wait for it.......... a Single Cab which my son's mates father is gonna use as his daily driver.
Damn I wish my panel was in as good a condition.

Just had a look to see why my heater is only working on the right side... found that the cable for the left side broke
Then I decided that it was not that big issue, and just washed volla, and topped up the oil

Got all the bits back from powder coating, so impressed with how they came out. fitted the bumpers and then cut the wood and drilled the holes for the roof rack. Will let the wood settle before I varnish them.

That looks fantastic Daniel.
Was curious to see how the fluted headlights will look, as I got a set for the 58 as well.
That aside, the powder coated items look

the headlights are pretty sweet, really good quality. I'm toying with the idea of removing the fender indicator and just using the cal look option in the light.

Got SP steering wheel back.
Painted metallic Black, there are a few specs of dust in the clearcoat but I'm not complaining as the job cost me a 2L Coke
Now to have it re-covered and find something to put it on...
