hi , my name is dave, i currently run a small side line business building performance buggies and turbo motors. i am currntly running a 86 mm x 94 mm turbo type 1 motor in my beach buggy. the car has run a 10.8 on the drag strip with the aid of slicks and wheelie bars. the motor i have just installed in the car has not been down the strip yet, but includes the following parts. 86 mm cb crank/ chevy dia cb h beam rods/ wiseco piston and longer sleeve kit from scat/ tc 30 turbo cam /1.4 ratio scat rockers/ cb comp eliminator heads 48 mm x 40 mm/ dellorto 45 mm turbo carbs/ t 61 turbo/ intercooled/ porsche 911 cooling fan kit
i am hoping the car will run in the low 10 sec bracket when i have put some miles on the motor. we also look after a number of turbobuggies fro our client base in cape town. i stock a large range of beetle dress up items/ brake parts/ performance engine bits and lowered beams etc. we aso build performance motors to clients specification. lok forward to hearing from you. regards dave

Re: New Members - Introduce yourself..
Hi all,
Found this site very informative, so eventually I decided to join.
I am Louis from Magaliesburg, working in the IT industry as a consultant. My interest the last couple of years has been restoring vintage MX motocycles (besides other hobbies), and that has spilled over into cars as well. I have always wanted to have a Beetle, and when a 1962 Beetle was offered to me, I could not resist. This will be my first vehicle restoration project. My restoring philosophy is to enjoy the re-builds and take my time.
Hope to participate in this forum on a regular basis.
