Slow day for progress, waiting on the new bumpers and fender rubber to arrive from Calooker.

In the meantime I decided to tackle the snapped bolts and sorted all 6 out. Thank god for new nuts, 50 year old ones aren't sexy. Also tried to add the bonnet rubber to the car, how in bobs name do you do this? using a screwdriver just tears the rubber, but im not a porn star and crap at putting big things into small slots, anyone?

Clean those grooves and then slide it in with dishwasher. Use a lot of patience.

I tried lowlight, I cannot seem to get the dishwasher to fit under the bonnet, and the cord is too short

In addition, I was worried about SA drivers not seeing the snowflakes during the day. In my experience, the drivers here are possibly some of the worst in the world, so with that in mind, I had this sent from the US



3rd brake light LED, which happily fits on the rubber and isn't obtrusive, so keeping inline with the minimal look but at the same time giving the twat behind me something to look at.

Busy day today, the old lady got her spare room back (but now we can have friends come round!) <-- we don't know anyone here love, but yeah anyway..

Thanks to Calooker's package (box, not his other package, pervs!), I managed to get everything bolted on that required bolting on, that included fenders, runner boards, bumpers and lights.



I need a set of bumper bolts, other than that, I tried to use new bolts where possible.

Being a photographer by trade, I thought i'd add some flare. This car will be shot in a studio situation when it's all complete, but till then:


Tomorrow I need to work out how the hell you fit the windscreen wiper motor and push all the wires for the indicators/lights through the worlds smallest rubber holes.

Now that it starts coming together the colour really shows its potential.

Wiper motor is very easy, just bolts onto a triangular assembly, you can then connect the wiper mechanism to the motor and basically complete the entire thing, and this in turn bolts to the car, the assembly has a bolt just beneath the upper bonnet lip in the middle of the windscreen, and the two wiper "standoffs" push through from the bottom, with two bolts holding them down. I know as I had to replace mine . One of the easier things to do. Patience is key with those wires - will still be easier than the glass

The key to car photography is lighting and position.

Use a tripod, don't use the off camera flash. The worst thing you can do is blast light at a shiny surface. Where possible, use natural light. I'd recommend parking garages, etc. Think of something that would look good to balance the looks of the car.

You don't want a busy background, you don't want light that is too powerful, so the best time is late at night in some deserted car park with overhead lights.
