Looks like a solid, original car you have there. Nice find!

Thanks Fourier, indeed, '71 very original and will be kept that way, few minor fixes, but will be putting it on the backburner as they say until my 62 is finished. I will be the second owner of this car, got the original purchase receipt, previouse owner traded in a 67 notchback for this car!!

62RestCal,

You lucky fish....the vehicle looks great, but what pulled my eye was that RHD front rubber mats that looks intact...rare very rare if my eyes do not deceive me.

The original steering wheel cover....ha ha...just love it!!!!

Remnants of old service stickers in the door jambs if I am not mistaken!!!!

I will say it again...you lucky fish!!!!

Love the dash, not hacked to fit a modern radio!

Haha thanks Pierre, ja the rubber mats look good, only a few rips around the pedals, drove it yesterday after an oil change and valve adjustment. Engine has plenty of life in it and not a single leak, but the clutch needs changing, oh well, going into storage for another day. Took my daughter for a ride, she has dubbed it "Beechie"Image

Mr 62RestCal,

No oil leak....check the dipstick again after the service...LOL!!! Well there we go.... cause mine reminds me that they stood there a minute or two ago....LOL!!!

:!: :!: :!:  Well "Beechie" and owner and of course owner's delightful Dad will have to find their way to Brits the 16th of October 2016.....it is not neg....no don't want to hear it... this all due to reasons yet to be revealed...mmmmwhaaaa!!!

Leave kids to give the old VW's nicknames...they are just sooo much better than us at it  My daugther got a little too creative one time...mmm...so my missus and I decided that it might be a good idea to refrain from doing that...not gonna say...

Ooops while you are reading this, I am keeping you from taking more pictures of your vehicles.... nudge, nudge, wink ,wink!!!

Regards,

So made a little more progress with "Wolfie" as my 5 year has now dubbed it, what with the kids and other projects keeping me busy sometimes it makes me feel like i am never gonna finish my baby. Not gonna say much, and just post some pics, body is now back on pan with wheels on, one door fully buit after waiting forever for a new latch, hopefully can get the other door finished this week as my sound insulation has arrived and looks like its going to be fun to install.

Stunning work! The car looks frekkin stunning!
the brake lines are a work of art
just make sure the axle boots are at 11 or 1 o'clock and not straight up

Thanks Tony, appreciate it. Will do, will tighten them up once the motor is in. Still want to fit stainless braided hoses instead of the standard ones aswell
