How the switch looks in the dash, its a proper Hella one but it doesn't look as good quality as the original VW one.:-

Looks like I put too much on It needs another one now, the paint is so thick I marked it by opening the lid doh!

I'm going to put it in the oven now at 60 deg C to bake it off, when it cools, I'll sand it & give it a light dusting just to put the sine back:-

Sanded all of the high spots off, you can see the low parts are shiny, you sand till its all mat then you know its level:-
Image

Another coat, once dry I realised the paint was a bit too thick around the edges:-
Image

This is now doing my head in, I've decided to split the two parts now as paint is building up to thick in between the gaps, I've now sanded them right back with 240 grit & painted hopefully for the last time:-

While the wife is in work, place the items on a baking tray at approx 60 deg C for approx 10 mins.

At last I'm happy with the finish:-

Would I do it again no, I was tempted to polish & lacquer it, if I had to do it again I would either do that or Powder coat it. :)

All back together, puzzled by the swirl marks in the photo, I can't see them with my eyes.

Image

Not happy with those swirls so just flatted it wet with 1500 lightly dusted it & baked it in the oven, looks good again, I'll photo it next when fitted.

Got myself a set of retro 70's style chrome Spotlights for the front of Milly, I just got to work out now how to fit them without drilling holes:-
Image

Well it my youngest's birthday today, she's 1. Time has gone fast, here is Alys 2 days old last year:-

Didn't get much done today as I had to help organize little Alys's birthday, but I did fit the spot lights fitted.
I checked the underside of the bumper & there were 4 holes already drilled, The spotlights would fill 2 if I turned the bumper over but the other 2 would be just there:-
Image

Quite a few dead fly's on Milly's front panel:_
Image

Measured up the locations & put masking tape so I could mark the exact location:-
Image

Got my trusty combi dril out with a 5.5mm drill bit:-
Image

Drilled the hole, you can see I put a booklet underneath so the drill wouldn't touch Milly's paint:-
Image

Drilled the hole out to 10mm:-
Image
Image

Used some 17mm lock nuts so they wo't vibrate loose:-
Image

Ankor waxe'd the hole to stop it from rusting:-
Image

Bolted the spots on:-
