gave the buggy a thorough serch for loose nuts and bolts as it seems the engine and gearbox want to fall out when driving on a not to smooth road.

After checking every thing from engine and gearbox mountings, starter, alternator, you name it I checked it.

Eventually with the help of my son doing short pull aways in the driveway I found the silencer welding had rusted through. Now when I drive I have to pray that it doesn't fall off and fly into the car behind me.

Anybody know a welder :D

Ok so here is the list

Last week Sunday:

Rewired the whole interior of the car, removed old fuse box, replaced with new blade fuse one.
Took out dash board, cleaned it and resprayed the metal pieces
Today:
Drained gearbox oil, refilled
Fixed worn out speedo cable at the hub, working now for the first time since I've bought the Kombi
Adjusted hand brake cable
Installed radio head unit.

Hi Tony
Is it A piston pin button?
I wish I could get enlightened on those things
I have tried Aly busted within 3000km
Then tried brass didnt work
Then teflon didnt work
So far my opinion of those things: They suck
It seems they cant do the distance and there is also wear marks in the cylinder where the cross hatching is plished or the pin wears a huge chunk out of the cylinder
I see you are trying delrin Care to elaborate?
Armand

Empi - no it isnt a button. I have used the Empi teflon buttons in my 2332. They seem to work. Wont open the engine to find out tho.
I think the trick with the buttons is to fit them snuggly into the gudgeon pin and make sure the pin can still move a tad, maybe 0.5 to 1mm. That way they dont press on the cylinder walls. I see them being advantages by keeping oil out of the pin and thus making things a little lighter.

Why delrin - cause I am on a boat floating in the Mediterranean and the only other material I have that size is wood. Would have preferred aluminium but I dont have.

Fitted my safari windows(finally)
Story time:
After taken the safari frame to a certain P(something)-Glass on Tuesday and being told they will inject the frame with poly-urethane and insert laminated safety glass into it, I could come and collect next day at 09:30 sharp for R350. So Wednesday I was busy at home and around 14:00 decided to phone them up, so the guy told me they are waiting for the poly-urethane to dry ,best would be to collect Thursday because if the window was to break they could replace it no charge. So I went there this morning, the guy I dealt with was not there, got the frame with loads of black silicone around the edges. some of it didnt event come close to the frame just neatly splattered on the window   so I start tearing it off, I ask the guy are you sure theres something between the glass and the frame and he ensures me there is.Go to the counter to pay, the guy takes out his tape and measures, says R150 ??? R200 less than original,
Got home and started fitting the frame but for some reason it wouldnt go into the window of the body, after a few minutes I noticed that the one corner was hitting the edge of the body frame, So I took the frame apart to rectify. And as I thought, there was nothing between the glass and the frame, the glass was pushed in and the frame screwed together with a very piccaso like display of silicone, What a bunch of :jerkoff: 's
They wont be seeing me ever again
