The Caracal

Interesting article by Stuart Johnston from 1990, reading it I couldn't help thinking about some parallels with the Puma - fibreglass body, VW mechanices (16V GTi), built in a factory etc. Does anyone know if the Caracal ever made it to production?

As far as I know, Intermotormakers who were the designers went out of business/bankrupt ? They also used to be the local Lamborghini and Lotus importers/agents/assemblers in Cape Town.

Have the same magazine at home. Very interesting looking car, and must have been pretty damn quick with the legendary 16V engine!

There are only 2 cars left. Chris has just found the long lost 2nd one.
Chris. PLEASE get the guys details so I can pass it on to the owner of the 1st and only running one. It belongs to a mate of mine who went to George with it 2 years ago.
They were built in Epping, Cape Town years ago, based on Golf mechanicals.
I wonder if our fearless reader destroyed the previous posts and pictures of that George show?
I'm gonna do a search.

Obviously to make two cars they had to have a mould - wonder where the mould is now?
