I recently picked up a Deutz Diesel parts manual, which features this ad on the inside cover:

Interesting!
I heard yesterday that Subaru is releasing it's boxer diesel this year as well.

Correct yes, Diesel Forester and Legacy to be released in SA June this year.
Cant wait to get my hands on the Diesel Forester, would love to compare it to my current Forester.

Apparently that Subaru Diesel engine has some Porsche engineering in it as well?

The Subaru, 2•0 litre turbo-diesel, boxer engine, was first available for cars sold in Great Britain & Europe, in January 2008. I have posted some links and stories, I have been referencing these past four years, in the following new topic thread:
