I wonder how many "Bitter CD"'s are in the country? And I don't mean sad songs on a round disc you put in your hifi

Duuuude!
It's either a Variant. Or a Notchback. No such thing as a Variant Notchback
Rear screens are very hard to find. Beetlepower on here has a front windscreen that he may sell to you. PM and ask.

Re: Classic car windscreens
On the subject of windscreens. Any one here know someone that manufactures to specification?
Cape Town area would be great. But anywhere in the country would work for me.

Re: Classic car windscreens
Dirk there is a company down in Wynberg that does it (if they are still around) They did a lot of American cars for the movie industry (if that is still around too?!?!)
Anyway I forgot there name, but it has "Glass" in it somwhere (go figure) - ask around at glass shops, they were pretty well known.
One off mould costs are pretty high though (if it is a tight curve even more so as they need two moulds - inner and outer skin) - what do you want to have made?
There's guys in JHB that seem to be doing a lot of this now too - just did a run of early Valiant glass (probably same as posted above)

Re: Classic car windscreens
Hi Barry, I'm just being prepared. Don't want to end up in a situation where I can't drive my cars because I'm missing either front or rear windscreen.

Re: Classic car windscreens
I spoke to a guy by the name of Ben at Northern Glass this morning.
He would need a usable sample to make the molds.
It would take about three weeks to deliver the screen.
Cost would be R4200 plus VAT.
They can also make the rear window.
I have seen a replacement windscreen for a Lamborghini Countach that they made. These guys do know their stuff.

Re: Classic car windscreens
This comes into it's own when you get a group buy together - it's the mould that pushes the price up.
If it's only about being prepared then no problem - as long as you get to them before you break the last one in the country
