Howzit all,
I had a bit of an accident this morning with my '64 Triumph Spitfire (yes I know it a non acvw, but pls help), after taking it out of the yard for the first time in six months.
Story as follows: I wanted to turn right into a street and waited for on coming traffic, as I was sitting there, well inside my lane, a girl came from the front and started drifting into my lane bout 50m from me, I thought it was a bit weird but thought she would go back into her lane well before she's close to me. Well it didn't happen and she hit me on the right front wheel and fender. The problem is she just drove on, not even slowing down when she hit me. Luckily the guy behind her got her number plate, and I have two other eyewitnesses that saw what happened. The guy behind her suspects she was drunk ( at 8:00 on a Sunday morning) as he was driving behind her for a while.
So I went to the police reported the accident and did all the paper work where you explain the accident.
Is there anything else I need to do, eg open a docket?
And how do I get her detail?? As I surely need to get in contact with her insurance. My Triumph is unfortunately not insured (is 3rd party insured) as I'm a student and don't have the cash to insure it.
Right front suspension and rim written off and front right fender got a usage dent, right side lights are also written off.
