that egg shell foam you can buy, it seems to work a fair bit better than the standard sound deadening that was in. i layered the carpet over it. The foam is thick and you lose a bit of space, but all i put back there is my jumper leads, overalls, hard hat and safety boots. and i have a cover over that section so its neat any way. even looks neat without my cover.
From fastest to slowest:

Birkin race car, not much is standard
Lotus Elise 111R, almost everything is standard
'75 SP 1600 with a few mods
B8 A4 Avant tdi, towing made easy

Did some experimentation with tin last night, as a medium for Christn's door panels... No, not as visible panels, just as back plates to be sprayed-over or covered.

Although I managed to make nice round corners, both outward and inward. I noticed that spray painting tin is a painful exercise.
I used some silver quick drying spray paint and the imperfections show incredibly quickly.

Shaping tin with some tin shears, pliers, a hammer and a hundred-and-fifty-thousand year old "bank-skroef" didn't do much in the way of helping me
avoid imperfections either.

Got a new found respect for people who do metal work and spray painting in the process though.

Pulled Petrus' engine to fix an oil leak,
Replaced the engine - still leaking.
Pulled the engine again - found a crack at no3 in the case
Bought a recon from Vee motors
Fitted the new motor
Took car for a test drive - still leaks oil
Busy pulling motor again to investigate .....

Looked at her ... admired her ... Longed for a sunny day when I am not at work to give her some attention, and walked past her to get to work.
Now where was that bolt from again ...?
And do I need to weld that together?
