Valve radio, where to start?

I was given an old car radio the other day, it's a 50's Philips. I opened it up and the tuning mechanism needs some work. What suprised me most is that it runs on valves! Is there anywhere I can get a diagram of what to wire where for this thing? I don't want to blow it up.

Dude, it's broken, I'll take it off your hands
Seriously though, if you do find a source please let me know. I'm going to be struggling with this same problem not to long from now.

For you CT oaks, try Hamrads.

Hamrad is a block away from where I work.

I'll make a plan to see if they might have diagrams.

They used to have valves as well.
But Dirk, just remember, when I was your age, Hamrads shop used to be at least 80% bigger than it is now.

Junk the insides and build a rally radio into it. This mod gets done to all our old cars.
My Dad has a 46 Plymouth with the Original Factory Radio.
46 Plymouths were advance as this Radio picks up FM.

Ja, that's another thing, can I convert it to FM (from MW)? or even better, can I get one of those things that plays your mp3 player through the radio to work on MW?

I found a couple of companies in the uk which take old radios and redo the insides to make them FM with an aux in as well as at least one company which sells new radios that look like old ones.
