sup guys im new to the forum and new to aircooled aswell.
But i must say i found a jewel of a hoodride for a steal.
a week ago i bought a 1965 singleport 1600 beetle for R2000 :hangloose:

It is still on the road till 31/01/2010 and it still drives 100%
Now the problems.....
A huge hole in the floor pan under the driver side all the way to the battery.
Leaks fuel if it stands for 2 days without starting
Crappy bodge fix ups here and there.

Now the windows have been stripped out, the fenders, bonnet, tailflap and doors are off to the sand balasters and the body is soon to follow.

the motor needs a little neating up but got a plan for a watercooled flat four turbo in the pipeline

will post pics in the next week.

Clearly you're in Hermanus...

I thought Melkbos was slow, but compared to Hermanus, Melkbos is a suburb of Joburg...

Hermanus is definitely a holiday destination...
