I got an '03 Golf IV 1.9TDi Highline.... It gets the seatcovers nice and HOT when you crank the electric seats up high....

Re: Any other Audi/VW 1.9 TDI owners on this site?
Just got my first diesel car... 2000 Audi A4 1.9TDi (115hp Pumpe Duse engine)
I'm amazed at the fuel consumption 4,4km /100km (commuting to work through Cheleasa) and the amount of torque these engines have from just over idle.
Only issue I have with it ATM is that its very smoky at cold startup but it disappears as soon as you've driven 200m. Anyone have any tips apart from checking glowplugs?

The glow plugs are only there for one reason.... To warm up the combustion chamber on cold starts. Once it has started the glow plugs switch off and it runs on compression ignition....
Remember that after driving it hard you need to let it idle a bit to make sure the turbo is well lubricated before shut down. I've been getting between 880 & 1000km on a 60l tank.... But when I use the cheep diesel 500pspm I get 600km on a tank.
Just think what a 1.9TDi would be like in a bug?!?!!!!!

Re: Any other Audi/VW 1.9 TDI owners on this site?
You get Auto lubrication kits that keep the turbo coolent pumping for a while after you switch off the car, that way you dont need to idle it. but they costly, my friend looked into it for his TDi but decided it wasn't worth it.
From fastest to slowest:
Birkin race car, not much is standard
Lotus Elise 111R, almost everything is standard

Very nice car,and at that price,it's a real bargain.
It's almost better flying to the UK and buying a car there and drive it home.
