Are all convertible beetles imported and thus hard to find? And if so from what years and what is the oldest convertible known by you guys in SA??
I know of a 1302 LS 1968 in CT.

And a 1956 one if still here, beautifull!

Then the superbeetles 71-72 up till 1976
Where the 71 and 72 beetles different (windscreen flat)
and, have all convertible superbeetles in SA the mcpherson struts and diskbrakes?
Last.. anyone knows a convertible for sale in good nick? (PM me)

Bugz...there is a 1957 convertible in Cape Town for R95k. If you look in Autotrader you will see....I have previously posted pics as I was thinking of buying before I found BB.
Jason's old one with plate "OLD VW" - Black with red interior.

and 1973 upwards convertibles?
(1971/72, flat windscreen, later round) Must be all imports then, with the mcpherson struts? (superbeetles)
Am I correct?
Trying to find one, but not easy to come by.

There was a red convertible parked at Dirk in Pta's place a few month's ago belonging to one of his customers... There was also a sweet blue 1302 at CITP belonging to Andreas Radel i think. So there are a few around

Hey Bugz,
Just got to reading this now... I know of a cabriolet that's for sale (well it should still be as it's still advertised). I'd shown quite a bit of interest in this one and no doubt, it's worth every cent as they are so rare here, but alas - R105k (I think it might have even dropped to R95k) is a bit much for me atm.

Happy hunting...

Dont take any of the prices on cars as the price shown. A lot of the places need to move cars and are willing to drop the price for interested buyers or give good trade-ins. Two of the cars i looked at have had their prices dropped by 19-24% so far. Go in, make an offer, whats the worst that can happen? Now is the right time to buy cars actually..
