Hello manne,

What is involved in chopping the beetles roof?
I would imagine that it would be a staggered cut in an effort
to get the sections to line up, any ideas from the "manne wat weet"?
And the glass, do you get the existing glass cut down or do you get
new glass cut to size?

Does anyone have proper scale drawings of a beetle so that I could
work it out with CAD?

That kind of a "how long is a piece of string question" - there's many ways to skin this cat.

Short answer to what's involved though is a shitload more work than you may think - if you want it done right. Bugger's done a few and would be a good place to start.
A slant chop isn't neccesarily any easier, and I personally don't think it looks right anyway.

As for glass - front glass can be cut down (not always succesfully!!) but flat laminated glass can be cut to your template. Tempered glass (side windows) can't be cut, but again can be mad up from laminated. Need to make sure it's finished well on the edges though.

Hi there are a few tricks that needs to be followed cutting the roof
I have done angle chops and also angle chops that looks as if it was done straight down which all depends on the look you go I like the straight down one
I will be able to cut it and joing it but all is in the head comes from a few stuff ups in the beginning

The front curved glass can be cut in the early 80`s we had a problem with that but not any more
The back window is a problem in a way
