...if a 58 front windscreen will fit in a 57 oval. If possible, what are the differences if they are not interchangeable.

57 corners are round.

Sorry Chris, The 1957 windscreen corners are more rounded compared to the 1958 Beetle.

57 windscreen is smaller than 58. But both are flat, so shouldn't be expensive to cut, just won't have the logos.
