No not the bus, the bug.
Anyone know how many split window bugs were sold in Africa? Watching the Zim situation get better has made me think of the possibility of decent veedub's available for sale in the country.
Ideally I'd like a split window, but haven't seen many for sale in SA, so was thinking of looking outside of the border

I have to throw this question out there, would we not then become "exporters" ?

I bought a '51 Ragtop splitwindow Bug in Namibia in 2007. I went through all the trouble to de-register it in Nam. and then tried in vain to register it in RSA, because it is illegal to import secondhand cars in SA. I even asked the owner for a letter to say that he moved to SA and that he brought the car with him, after two years of red tape I sold it last month to a guy I met at wheels on the Vaal. I also went though the agony of registering my current Bug that had papers but was not on the e-natis system. I don't say it cannot be done but it is a minefield. On Sunday I sold my other Split bug at NAC day in because it didn't have papers. So there are people who think it can be done, but I've given up.
