This engine is a twinport 1600 disguised to look like an early sixties Okrasa conversion.
Some details: silencer modified to have four tailpipes.
SP manifolds and carbs modified to look earlier.
Custom linkages
Fanhousing cut and spliced to a dog house for good cooling
chromed back plate
Early fram filter fitted and custom oil feed fittings and hoses made
electronic ignition.
The cannibal! a certain member who shal remain dark good looking and Caucasion is the only one I know who will cannibalise a good working engine to repair a broken engine!
Some gleams in their owners eyes.
.
Lastly my attempt to make aan early looking electronic dizzy out of a WBX one ( blew up 4 hall senders before I found out I might have the wrong TCI Unit ARGH!!!!!
early 1200 heater boxes modified to fit later engine (non fresh air)
Destined for a low light KG

Amongst other things I have been busy making revisions to my fan shrouds mostly to make them easier to assemble and neater looking.
I made the stand casting slightly bigger and also cast my logo into it
The Pattern:
then I had ten cast in aluminium:
Obviously the blanks need machining here is some of the jigs:
the new stands will use a billet oil filler as sold by EMPI or even the original beetle filler.
I also decided to offer another variation on the bottom pulley
there are a few of the first run of steel pullies left but the new ones are made from aircraft grade aluminium and I can also offer machining on normal cast pulleys or even the stock steel pulley
As it was very difficult to attach the oil cooler duct into the shroud on the first run I now have made this a part of the mold reducing complexity and making the shroud easier to fit
the original duct:
Inside the new moulds:
Obviously a project like this doesnt come cheap and represents my faith in the product. The machining will be done early next year with me being able to deliver early February if all goes well.Obviously pricing will take this into account but it will still be the best in Africa.
The badges will only be supplied as part of a complete engine though. the kits come with a sticker.
Regards
Armand

Currently a lot brewing here I built a wall inside the workshop to seperate parking from working and it appears to work ha ha
Quite a few to be finished though
What to do when one of those sump studs are stripped I use a 7mm thread and make a step stud 7mm on one side and 6 on the other. no drilling needed as the stripped 6mm hole is perfect for tapping to 7mm
Some current work in progress
My Forum wall of fame since Orkney is so far from "civilization" I enjoy forum members leaving something behind
Recently repaired a 68 Bay pickup and the front tin was missing so had to make one
Found this in the same bus fan
