Uhm... the 'Miami Vice' idea was actually meant as a compliment...

I had this scene (as from 0:55) in mind - also see the part from 1:52 8)

and my pedo-'stache and mullet comment was from this, the remake:

on the upside though, if i redid the interior in hot pink with light blue accents, I could call it "the miami-look" :hangloose:

it really was such a crap movie! I went to see it with a girlfriend, and even though we spent most of the movie making out, I was still very much aware of, and distracted by the utter crapness of it! Eish..

Hi Joose,
Think we need to meet. Take a look at my Ghia special, they could be twins. Just got mine running again after big engine blow. Its a Porsche 912 motor, and its got 1302 back and front end. Been on this for over two years now, and still not finished - but getting there.
Regards

wow! that is uncanny! Yours looks very neat! Mine is basically an old car with a new coat of paint  whereas yours looks like a proper rebuild/resto job. Very nice! What modifications were needed to fit the 912 engine?

Photos can be misleading. This was a tatty body grafted onto a very modified early pan, with the ball joint/disc brake front end bolted on and the 1302 back end welded in. The engine fitted quite easily although its tight up against the firewall, so access to throttle linkage etc is impossible. The major problem is wheeel clearance at the rear arches. Have cut out plenty of metal there, but still wheels rub when two up, so need to get it slightly flared. Original intention was to see if I could use it as a track car, hence lack of attention to detail, but now want it on the road, so am doing a bit more detailing. Many trials and tribulation. Flywheel came loose and engine over-revved causing a lot of damage (bent push rods, shattered pulley which damaged timing case etc). but all sorted now and running well.
As mentioned - must get together sometime.
