I'm told any locksmith with enough knowledge can adjust the tumblers in my bus locks to fit a new key...
...so, would it be possible to adjust one of my bus' locks in order to have one set of keys for two bus'?
Cheers, N.

To my knowledge, the beetle locks are to this day the only locks made that cant be picked. So I dont know about your adjustments...
Problem was there is 1000 different ways to unlock the car without worrying about picking the locks

I've never heard that Beetle locks are "unpickable". Even if it were true when Bugs were new, I doubt you could say that for any 30+ year old lock.
Merlin, what you are asking is possible, BUT:
1. Your ambo originally had one key for all locks; your Fleetline didn't. The front door locks and rear hatch lock on a Fleetline may be compatible with pre-63 German bus equivalent locks, but the ignition and cargo door locks are not. I doubt any of the locks in your ambo are similar to any of the Fleetline locks.
2. Your locksmith would have to have lots of spare parts from those locks, especially tumblers. Generally the tumblers are pretty worn after 30-odd years.
The locksmith (Randburg Locksmiths???) next to the Sanlam Centre in Randburg is pretty good with automotive locks and have lots of hard-to-find key blanks. You might try asking them what they can do for you.
PS: This is a very good idea, as it will allow me to steal both your buses with only one key ...

Hehe...
I have 2 keys that came with my ambulance.
The one starts 'er up, and nothing else, and the other one is just an accessory it seems, does nothing.
You know, deals are always on the cards Fig...you have things I want, I have things you want.
Key or no key, I can start your bus'.
Cheers, N.

While the key issue is up, I tried to cut a spare key for my beetle. I've been to three diferent places in Pretoria, nobody can help me with the correct key blank!
