67 Panelvan
I have finaly decided to start this thread, Even though I am still in UK some parts have been shipped already or on their way,
This is going to be a slow thread as I cannot work on the Panel and because I want to finish one part completely before moving on to the next one, so dont expect updates everyday, more like a few a months.
I bought this Van a while back while stil in college and working on the Fleetline, it was a quick deal, I was told its for sale by the previous owner and I said Ill take it straight away, this is also the first ever split-bus I drove in and drove myself
I dont have lot of history on the bus except for the pevious owners little log book that he used to document his trips,If you read at all the names of the places you will see that this bus has been up and down Africa, only a few pages scanned,.
But this will give you more or less an idea on where my little bus was.
It was also called the "olifant" I take its because of the colour
If any one has more info on this bus please feel free to add.
The next few pics is of the bus when I got it,might have started stripping it before photos but again, just a basic rough idea what I got
One neatly made walk-through which I will probably keep that way, great for camping
and two y seats thats welded on to the body, dont get me wong they are comfy, but cant move back or forward, and you have to squeeze through to get to the back
Started stripping the door panels
Wanted the wheels bright red with the chrome centre pieces on the black bus, but still not on the bus You like Dutch??
Areas that need attention
Basically this is where I am now, and its time for change.Notice the attention to detail on the handbrake
I have been very lucky in getting both my busses with all parts attached and complete

Re: 67 Panelvan
hell yes, another van thread...
So have to ask, who did the camo treatment? The colour is what i'm thinking of, and how cool are those journals???
so what's the overall plan? IRS/dropped? Time frame?
is it done yet?
what about now?

Isn't this the same car that was advertised on TheSamba?

Thanks Buggoff, my friend had a beetle roofrack which I swopped for that one, the ladder as can see is home made,
Luckily the roofrack just clears the garage door, but I have managed to hit it once, dont know how
No I have never advertised the Panel anywhere,If it was it was not me advertising..Blitzkrieg wrote:Isn't this the same car that was advertised on TheSamba?
The Fleetline was on TheSamba but then again its been on lots of For Sale Vintage car sites in the last 3 years since Ive been here
The camo was on when I bought it, You can see it was just hand painted on with normal paint, It came off easily except for the green, that was stuck. On the plans side of things we can safely say that Fig wont like it,dsan wrote:

I have loads off ideas but lets start with a non-aircooled accessory, my Original 1940's externel Fulton sun-visor...
Being in uk sucks as I dont have place to work and sand things or spray, and now its winter...
I primered the visor in the house, yup overspray on everything

Re: 67 Panelvan
Finished my exterior sun visor today; I am pleased with the result as all the chrome bits got their life back,
Primered sprayed and had a quick rub down, next step is to fit them to the bus, should have done that first to make sure it fits right
Not 100% sure of a colour yet, but will see once all parts are on the bus,
Middle Part
Side panel
Arms for visor
