and on that topic.

Thank You Chris

I had a special delivery today as well! One very orange bus :-) :hangloose: :-)

Very Much appreciated.

Talk about a crazy afternoon. I get a call, the bus is on the way to my house (notch dropped off, and another car already collected). So I hightail it home through rush hour traffic, and actually make it there in reasonable time!

Starts raining - pouring in JHB, lady has a flat tyre right in front of our house, and my wife can't pull her car into the driveway! The ladies son and I changed that tyre in super quick time :-) , as I am expecting the bus! So we wait, and wait, and wait, then I get the call from the driver, they had to stop a block or two away, the truck is too high to get into our suburb, too many trees in the way. Drive down to the open ground next to the sasol and there she was :-). FEW HAIR RISING MOMENTS as I had to back the bus off the truck, from the very top level. One tyre coming off the rim, thats how flat it was! Sliding on the wet steel of the ramps.

But got her down safely - phew. As I was backing her off the ramp a guy in a beetle stops to chat, nice 71 german import super, disk brakes, mcpherson struts etc - lol, yes, ACVW airheads. Then as the bus is off and we are waiting for my dad to come help tow, his car has a towbar, just so much easier, a kind soul in a Vito van stops and offers to tow me home, we hook it up, wife in her car in front, vito and bus in the middle, and then my dad arrives and makes up the rear of the convoy, all this for two blocks! Home safe and sound. Sorry to bore you all with my drivel, just exciting to finally have her home....

Well, after a joke, Chris actually came over for last year's F1 race in France. Had a great time, and he even took the wheel on the way back home as I was knackered! Sent me a timing light. When it got here, it was broken. He said "Fok dit" and sent me a digital one!! Some time later he sends me a Skottel Braai. On my SA trip a month ago, he picks me up at the airport and we drive through to Stellenbosch. He drops me off at Barrys place and also arrange a place to crash at HR's place. He then drives me back to Cape Town airport to fly back to Joburg. All this for fokkol, niks, nothing, mahalla!!!!

So Chris.... Dankie ou maat! (nou, moet ek jou kop aan hierdie kant vir jou krap???  )
