Aircooled VW South Africa

Here are some pics of my latest project, which will be fitted with an automatic gearbox that I already have.
It is a rather daunting task going to fetch a car in boxes but i am looking forward to it.
As I am basically building the car from scratch, and due to the high standard of other projects on this forum, my aim is to do everything to high standards while I am at it, even if that does mean the project will take a bit longer.

I believe the pan is a rare one as it is an IRS pan but was fitted with balljoint fron suspension and front discs, with the papers confirming that it is a 68

So far my list of wanted parts includes a flex plate, torque convertor, the appropriate flywheel and automatic starter, but Im sure this list will grow exponentially

I have managed to buy a box the other day with a vacuum canister on it with Cv`s flanges
So i have atleast that spares

Do you have the bodyshell of the Beetle as well? Interesting project, bestaluck and keep us updated!

Thanks guys...no I dont have the bodyshell yet...wanna finish the chassis first then i'll look for a body, but luckily beetle bodies are plenty
