Nice work, but actually everyday stuff on sites like Metalmeet.com & allmetalshaping.com - and not too hard to learn either!!!
Believe me when I say anyone with a baisc capability to work with their hands can learn this stuff.
Now if he had made the donor frames too....... :D :D :D

About half way into the thread he built a jig to form the corner window frames from the existing panel van corner. Really amazing stuff!

So when's the next Metal Meet Barry? I'd really like to attend one, but need plenty of advance warning. :hangloose:

It will be end April , beginning May - whichever of the public holidays work best to make a 3 day weekend.
I am thinking of changing things slightly to make sure the people attending are more committed and actually trying to achieve something - had a few time/space wasters before which means others may not got the full benefit. If I have to limit numbers I will probably ask people to be able to show some evidence of their work/attempts to date. Know that may sound crap, but it seems I still get people turning up for a social.....

I am also starting serious formal 3 day courses this year for anyone interested in getting a good grounding in the basics. A proper structured, practical course. Cost should be around R3.5 - R4K or so.

BTW sorry Fig - I didn't read the entire thread (just skimmed here & there). Sounds like he made a hammerform - very useful technique for reproducing complex parts, especially involving a number of changes of direction in the material such as corners of windows, door inner structures etc.

Tell you what SambaOwner - if you can seal it again with the screwdriver & a pair of vice-grips, you can host the 'meet

The hammerform windows he made are VERY cool. Came out great.

But I see the guys on the samba are as bad as we are with certain topics :flogging: . fake 15 window, panel, which is better, YAWN, YAWN.

I have much respect for guys who can do that with metal.
