Yes, this is a proper rant.

This is how your New Year(first day back to work) should start....

First night (came back Sunday from the in-laws) back home in my own bed, I got my fcuking cat doing the midnight stroll on top of me every half-fcuking-hour. So I wake up cranky and on top of it a sore stomach..... So I drag my sorry ass out of bed(finally when the fcuking cat left me alone, it was time to wake up..... what a surprise!!!) and get ready for work.

So I get ready to leave. -7C outside....GREAT  Get to the car. Cant get the key in the(Beetle's) door lock. Frozen up. Finally after a few frustrating moment, get the key in, but it doesnt want to turn. Careful now, dont break the fcuking key in the lock!!! After I managed to get wome oil in there, I can turn the key. Try to open the door..., no go!!! FCUK!!!! The door rubber frozen to the body. Now if you pull to hard, you tear the rubber to bits!!!!  Finally after some careful pulling, the door opens...... Half the battle won. Now, go scrape the (outside) windshield. All forzen up..... As I get into the car I STILL cant see a thing!!!! WTF!!!???? The windshield is frozen up on the inside too!!!!! :bn: Oh wait, not just the windshield, all the windows. Inside and outside, frozen up...... After some creative language, I am on my way. Freezing my balls off at work all day... Tonight, at 16H30 knock-off time, I could feel the lock being "jammed" again with humidity/ice inside..... Windshield started to 'glaze' up again on the inside with ice.

So I get home tonight, oil the door lock(thanks, now I have a lovely fcuking oil 'stripe' leaking down on the paint work), put some olive oil on the door rubber and a carton box(folded flat) on the windscreen.... All in attempt to have a 'better' morning tomorrow...... Oh how I fcuking look forward to the rest of winter :bn: :finger4u:

Rant off

Zero welcome to my fcuking world.

We have over 16 inches on the ground with another 5 - 7 inches being expected this Wednesday night, how fcuking great. My biggest problem is where to place aal this snow after you shovel it, I have run out of space.

but buddy best of luck with your snowy time.

Watercool,

When we get snow, it is not as bad as you guys. so my sympathies are actually with you. WTF does one put that much snow!? You should shovel it all into the road for that snow plow to take it away :D

What gets me is this damp that sets in first and then the cold that freezes everything into place  I realy should be sleeping, but I am drum rolling my fingers in anticipation for tomorrow(this) morning's drama.......

Damn, that sounds lousy....

Tony,
It's been cloudy / raining here in sunny SA most of the time. I'm actually wearing a sweater at the moment, and it is the middle of summer!!! :(

John, we hit a max of 6deg yesterday, with a 15degree windchill. Going outside isnt exactly what I would call pleasant.

So every weekend, Saturday and Sunday, I drive a round trip of 10km (15min) to PLEURS for the famous French Baguette. It gives me a chance to relax and see the country side 'waking up' for the day.... A pleasant experience.

Except FCUKING yesterday  1KM away from home, I got stuck in snow, because we dont have a snowplow that could be bothered to clean the road. If you dont know what I am 'forced' to drive here in France, here it is(not the exact same thing, but just t ogive you an idea of the model):
Image

As you can see, it is FAR from fcuking 4WD. So there I sit, for an hour trying to dig myself out. Becuase 10cm of snow already becomes a chalange for this car. During this hour, I got stuck 3 FCUKING TIMES!!!!!!!!

And hour later, I drive past my house, cold, fuming and still no Baguette  I am forced to take another route, 15km to the SAME village, PLEURS and on the way I drove past 3 cars that also got stuck in snow. One guy actualy skid off-road and ended well 'dug in' into someone's farm lands. The first guy I tried to give a hand, but we couldn't get the car out(VW Passat), and thank God for a kind soul taht also arrived and said he will go and get his tractor. That is one thing about this place, people are still willing to give a hand to help out :hangloose:

So, after an hour and half, I am back home with one little fcuking bread. Hot and bothered and in a good mood for the day...... This snow means fcuk-all to me if I cant get to a mountain and Snowboard. Other than that, it is just an inconvenience, not to mention the cold that goes along with it, and also down right dnagerous

Like Henry, I am in the same boat. Winter just started.... :zhelp:
