Alloy parts?

Hi guys
When i bought my buggy, the previous owner decided to dress the engine up and sprayed some of the engine parts yellow. I feel it doesnt realy go with the black and red colour scheme and want to get rid of the yellow. I would like to leave a few of the parts unpainted but dont want rust either. I know some of the parts are a type of cast alloy and wont rust.
Which of these parts are alloy and which are steel:
-alternator and alternator stand.
-Intake manifolds
-t piece that joins the two manifolds and carb
-distributor
Aslo, can a coil's casing be polished up?
Do i need to use high heat engine spray for the tin ware?
How do you tell if a engine is a 1600 or 1300, if its stamped, where is the stamp?
Sorry about all the questions, the boss is limiting my internet usage and i dont get to log in very often.
