Hi all,

I am posting this on behalf of my brother (not very computer literate). It was our childhood dream to one day build an off-road buggy. The original plan was to build a sand-rail but when we found out that the beach buggy we purchased to be the doner vehicle had papers, I convinced him to build a buggy, rugged enough for off-roading, but still road legal. This is the result....
Disclaimer: We have no knowledge off any kind regarding rebuilding, building or fixing cars. This is our first project[/i]

Hi Bostjor, and welcome to ACVWSA :hangloose:

That shell looks like a Salamander body, and you are surely on the right track to make it one awesome buggy, please keep us updated!

I will try and find some pictures of the origenal buggy and put them up later. In the mean time here are a few as the buggy is starting to take shape.

31 inch at he back and 30 inches on the front. The front one are a bit big, allows about 50mm of travel before making contact with the frame. We are concidering putting smaller ones up front.

It has 31 inches at the back (would love to fit 33's but the buget is a bit low) and 30 inch at the front. We are concidering putting smaller ones at the front, as the current travel between the tyre and the frame is only 50mm.

This is the first time that I see such a tube frame AROUND the Buggy!? It looks good :hangloose: What are the details about it?

The frame around the shell is 50x1.6 tubing to keep the weight down. We had it at a fitment centre, to try and get the frame bent to fit the shell, but that didn't work . So we ended up letting them bend us a couple of random bends, and got some 90-degree bends and built it from scratch  . It took us the better part of two weeks to build it (after hours). There are over 50 welds on the frame. It is a bolt-on frame connecting to the chassis on 8 points. We had it powder-coated.
