Eight cars will contest the South African Guild of Motoring Journalists Car of the Year 2010 competition with the final result and announcement of the winner taking place in March. With this thread you can vote for your favourite car (unfortunately it is only an internal vote, and will have no influence on the official verdict), but it would be interesting to see how close ACVWSA members came to the real thing! (My money is on the Suzuki Alto)

PS - Always keep it real, don't vote for the Prius. Remember - I'm watching you

Much to my surprise, the Hyundai i20 1.6 GLS is currently leading the way here on ACVWSA. Personally, I had to Google it to see what it looks like

tough one this.
the i20 is too close to an opel corsa to me, so that takes points off.
the golf could but dunno, price might count against it.
audi? hmmmmmmm
suzuki, possible

citi golf? wait... why would anyone expect a citi-golf as a car of the year finalist?? forget that it doesn't qualify! remember it was mainly discontinued because of safety issues. too behind of the times.

i really don't know which will win, i think i will close my eyes and which ever my curser is closest to will get my vote

The Q5 is not too shabby, but I can't help thinking 'A4 Avant on steroids' - or Allroad Again?

I've driven quite a few of those and I must say I was most impressed with the little Suzuki. It has a tiny engine, electric aircon and is fun to drive. It feels much better built than the Hyundai which felt like driving a cardboard box.
