Dibs on the coconuts in the tree in front of the Fastbacks
Interesting pics, thanks Chris. Automatic Fastback means IRS suspension, and most probably front disk brakes.. would be interesting to see what happens to these cars?

There is a chap in Stutterheim, just yonder of the high school, who has a collection similar, if not even more extensive, than this. It is like a grave-yard. He is a professor in King Williams Town, and will not part with any of his Germans. If anyone is in that neck of the woods, please snap away and show us the gems.

RIP LHD Fastback
If the car was closer I would have probably made some inquiries, IRS and disc spindles are always useful

If you're referring to Stutterheim in the Eastern Cape, my mother in law lives just yonder that school in the old age home. I sometimes drop my wife off with her mom while I scout the area for old VW's. I've often asked shop keepers, tow truck drivers, etc. if they know of anything and bar one old bus that I missed by about a year I've never heard of anything else.
'Myth busters unite' and lets crack this urban legend. Give me some more details and I'll find it.

Well, if you drive past main entrance to the school (school being on your right), the tar becomes dirt. Take your 1st right, then a left. The chap's house is on your right. Eish...it's been a while since I went there, so could be not too accurate with the directions! If and when you find this fella's house, the pics will be identical to those of Chris. It is a graveyard. An exclusive German yard. Busses, bugs and a Merc or two!

This is it, nobody home so I couldn't get in or ask questions. I'll try again next time I'm in Stutt. I could see 4 x Beetles, 2 x bay SCs and a SW variant. Also 7 Mercs and 2 Fiats. Look on Google Earth 32 33' 35.60S 27 24' 38.21E
